Yobe State Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Adam Idris, has announced a Sallah break for all public and private schools.
In a circular issued yesterday by the Director of Schools Management, Bukar Modu, which was made available to journalists in Damaturu, the break will run from Wednesday, June 4 to Sunday, June 15.
This aligns with the Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs’ declaration of Friday, June 7, as Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) Day, as well as the observance of Democracy Day on Wednesday, June 12.
The commissioner has directed all schools to remain closed during this period to allow students, teachers and stakeholders to fully participate in the festivities. Academic activities will resume on Monday, June 16.
The Commissioner, Professor Adam Idris also extends warm wishes to all for a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
