In a gesture of goodwill, Sokoto State governor, Ahmed Aliyu has directed the early payment of June salaries to civil servants, Local Government Education Authority, LGEA, staff and pensioners.
A statement signed by his Press Secretary, Abubakar Bawa, saidpayment of June salary commences on Monday, June 2.
The statement said it will cover state, local government workers, LGEA staff and pensioners.
The early payment will enable civil servants purchase sacrificial animals and prepare for the Eid-el-Kabir festival.
Governor Aliyu, currently in Saudi Arabia for pilgrimage, urged civil servants to reciprocate government’s goodwill through dedication and commitment to duty. This gesture marks the third time that the administration has made the move to support civil servants during festive periods.
