From HASSAN JIRGI, Damaturu

Emir of Machina, Dr Bashir Bukar has appealed to Muslims to pray to Almighty Allah to end the numerous challenges facing the country and restore unity among the citizenry.

In his Eid-el-Kabir message, he urged Muslims to devote their supplication to Allah for the full restoration of peace and unity across the state.

Bukar assured the people of his determination to make the emirate a model of governance, peace, economic prosperity, agri-business and investors destination in Yobe and Nigeria at large.

According to him, “As we mark the festivities, let us remember the sacrifice and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim to the will of Allah and always submit ourselves fully to the will of the Almighty and in service to mankind.

“Let me at this point congratulate our Muslim brothers and sisters in Yobe State and across the country for the grace of witnessing another Eid-el-Kabir.

Similarly, the Emirs of Bade, Alhaji Abubakar Suleiman and Damaturu, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi Ibn Elkanemi 11, said, “As we celebrate this important festival, we should not forget the symbolism and lessons of obedience to Allah, sharing of our God-given wealth with the less privileged, being our brother’s keeper and living in peace with our neighbors as enshrined in the tenets of the Islamic faith”.

They added that, “We will continue to support the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni in finding lasting solutions to the challenges confronting us. As traditional rulers, we will continue with practical steps to impact on the lives of our people”.

They also enjoined their subjects to always be vigilant.
