Benue@49: Gov Alia Tasks Stakeholders on Collaborative Efforts

Benue State governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia has called on stakeholders, community leaders, traditional rulers, business owners and youths to collaborate with his administration to build a future that mirrors the joint desire of the people. 

Governor Alia, who made the call in a solidarity message to the people on Benue’s 49th anniversary, acknowledged that the state created by the late Head of State, General Murtala Mohammed has passed through different leadership with each contributing to its progress.

The governor, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Monday in Makurdi, described the state’s adventure as one filled with struggles, impediments and triumphs through shared vision for a brighter future, stressing that under his leadership, government has undertaken a transformative journey whose target is to reawaken the fortunes of the state.

The governor, who said in less than half of his first tenure, government has achieved considerable breakthroughs, added that the administration has embarked on massive agriculture and agrobusiness programmes to boost agricultural productivity and ensure food security towards enhancing the livelihoods of farmers and generality of the populace.

On infrastructure and environment, the governor revealed that his administration is determined to rehabilitate roads, open new ones, construct and fix public facilities, in order to make Benue more accessible and foster economic growth.

In the healthcare and social development initiatives, Governor Alia revealed that his administration is working meticulously to advance health facilities and ensure that quality healthcare is available to all citizens, adding that there are tremendous indicators in almost all the sectors including Justice and Public Order; Humanitarian Services, Transport sector, Security of Lives and Property, Education, Staff Welfare, Economy, Commerce, and Wealth Creation. 

The governor, who said these achievements are just the beginning, as his administration anticipates a Benue State where every citizen experiences prosperity, security and opportunity, called for collaborative efforts from all citizens.

He urged the people to remain resolute as they celebrate the landmarks in the state at 49.

 The governor in the statement extended a hand of fellowship to all stakeholders, urging them to join hands with him in this noble endeavor, stressing that their participation and dedication are necessary for the success of the shared goals.

He urged the people in the spirit of oneness to keep praying for his administration, assuring that his leadership would always remain committed to serving the common people.
