Oyo Govt Converts 1,591 LGAd-hoc Workers To Permanent Staff

Oyo State government has converted 1,591 local government ad-hoc workers to permanent staff.

It would be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde approved the conversion of ad-hoc staff in the service of the 33 local government councils  to permanent staff in October last year, to bridge the gap in the workforce at the local government level.

In fulfilment of the governor’s promise, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Ademola Ojo, on Friday, said the letters of appointment are ready for collection.

The commissioner noted that  due process for the employment was followed. 

He advised successful applicants to collect their appointment letters at the Local Government Service Commission from Monday, February 3 to Thursday, February 6 between 10am to 2pm daily.

Ojo, however, said collection of appointment letters by proxy is strictly prohibited.

He congratulated the successful candidates and wished them success in their new roles.

A statement signed by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Prince Dotun Oyelade, said the schedule for letter distribution include  cadres: Administrative Officers, Agricultural Officers, Data Processing Officers, Engineering, Building and Quantity Surveyors, Estate Valuation Officers, Environmental Health Officers, Information Officers and Land Surveyors on February 3.

On Tuesday, February 4, it will be the turn of clerical officer; Wednesday, it will be the turn of  messengers and cleaners, while on Thursday, February 6, it will be the turn of of drivers/ mechanics, articulated vehicle drivers and attachmen.
