Community leaders in Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, have poured encomiums on the council chairman, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, for his transformative projects across the council.
The community leaders, who spoke during an inspection tour of projects in the council, praised Maikalangu for his commitment to delivering dividends of democracy to the people.
Addressing the chairman and his entourage, Officer in Charge of the Garki PHC, Mrs Monica Victor Jacob, expressed gratitude to the chairman, saying things are working seamlessly in the clinic, saying the additional block has made the clinic look like a hospital.
“Our women now give birth in the night seamlessly because of the solar lights installed by the Executive Chairman for us, so we’re grateful,” she said.
“We are impressed with the quality of projects executed by the chairman. The roads, schools, and healthcare facilities are testaments to his vision and dedication”.
Similarly, a community member, Hon. Nuhu Aota, said economic activities are thriving in the community because of the road project executed by the council chairman and promised that the chairman will be elected for a second term in office.
“We were used to dust and quagmire in this community, but now there is a tarred road and streetlights. We want Maikalangu to to for a second term. He has done well for us. Maikalangu is a man of the people,” he said.
He commended his efforts in providing amenities to the people.
“We are grateful for the projects, especially the road construction, which has eased transportation and improved our quality of life,” she said.
Ayuba Ishaya, a community member, said the community has never witnessed such a development, saying Maikalangu has provided electricity and road and has no comparison while begging for a construction of health centre for the community, lamenting their pregnant women suffer before giving birth.
He said the community members will unanimously vote Maikalangu for a second term in office, saying the chairman of AMAC remembered them after years of neglect by previous administrations.
During his tour, Maikalangu visited the LEA Primary School, Garki, where he pledged to provide additional teachers to support the education of local children.
He also inspected 7 classroom block renovated in Garki, inspected the construction of a 3 classroom block with office and toilets, inspected the ongoing construction of a PHC in Durumi 3, inspected an ongoing construction of 300 metre road with dual drainage at Galadimawa, at Kuchigoro, Maikalangu inspected the rehabilitation of an access road, inspected an ongoing 2km Lugbe by primary school road project with drainage, inspected a 2.4km completed road project with dual drainage in Gosa, inspected a completed 1.5 kilometer road with dual drainage, supervised the ongoing construction of a townhall, which was at 60% completion at Pyakasa among others.
Furthermore, the chairman visited the site of an ongoing road project in Chika, assuring residents that the project would be completed sooner than expected. He also inspected the installation of a transformer in another community, demonstrating his commitment to improving the lives of AMAC residents.
The AMAC Chairman expressed his commitment to completing ongoing projects and initiating new ones, saying his administration is determined to delivering on our campaign promises and improve the lives of our people.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to provide amenities and services that meet the needs of our communities.”
The chairman’s inspection tour took him to several project sites, including road construction, school renovation, and healthcare facilities. The projects are part of the council’s efforts to provide infrastructure and amenities to the people.
