From Our Correspondent

President Bola Tinubu yesterday commissioned multiple projects executed by Governor Ahmed  Ododo in Kogi State to mark his one year in office.

The president, who was represented by  Vice President, Kashim Shettima, arrived the state around 12 noon, in the company of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje and Edo State governor, Monday Okpebholo, through Dangote Airstrip in Obajana.

They were received by Governor Ododo, his Deputy, Joel Oyibo, former Governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, commissioners and other government officials.

Ododo led the vice president and his delegation to the area around Lokoja Local Government Area, where three road projects were commissioned to the admiration of the crowd.

The projects  commissioned are the 9km Zone 8-Zango Daji-Kaduna Junction road and the 5.5km Zone 8-Crusher Road.

Other projects include 350-bed hostels for both boys and girls at Confluence University of Science and Technology, CUSTECH, a demonstration farm, two faculties in the same university and some primary health centres across the state.

Addressing the president’s delegation, Governor Ododo said the projects executed demonstrate his desire to improve the well-being of the people of Kogi State.

Ododo said the projects scattered across the three senatorial districts  were part of the campaign promises to the people who elected him into office to serve them as their chief servant.

He thanked his predecessor for laying a solid foundation upon which he could consolidate the growth and development of the state.

Immediately after commissioning the projects, the vice president and his entourage  moved to the Government House, where they had a private chat with stakeholders in the state before moving to Muhammadu Buhari Square for the proper anniversary celebration.
