With at least two years to the 2027 general elections, a number of witches and wizards have lent their voice to the clamour for Seyi Tinubu becoming the governor of Lagos State, even as they predicted President Tinubu’s reelection, DAUDA ISMAIL writes.
Though the current administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is still about four months to complete two years in office, the news of would be contenders for elective positions have already begun to trend. Certain groups and political jobbers have even begun to produce banners and posters of their favoured candidates come 2027.
While opposition parties have started plotting to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congers, APC, at the national level, many have expressed surprise at the calls for the son of the president, Seyi Tinubu to take over the affairs of Nigeria’s commercial capital, Lagos State come 2027.
While the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Lauretta Onochie, Nollywood icon, Yul Edochie, the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, CONYL and other prominent individuals and groups have come out to either tactically or expressly endorse Chief Seyi Tinubu’s governorship ambition, some withes have predicted that the junior Tinubu shall be sworn in as the next governor of Lagos State come May 29, 2027. They however said although they belong to the Witches and Wizards Association of Nigeria, WITZAN, this is a personal prediction, not the position of the association.
In a chat with AljazirahNigeria Newspapers, one witch who gave her name simply as Sade said: “Speaking as someone who has been a witch since my early teens and who relates with the spirit beings that control the physical, I can tell you that Chief Seyi Tinubu is the next governor of Lagos State, just as his father, our president shall win a second term in office. I can tell you this authoritatively that not only his father, the APC, the politicians his father, our dear president groomed, nurtured and made are working to make him emerge, but he has already been endorsed even in the spirit world by the gods of our land and his ancestors.
In a similar vein, another witch, Dr Ndidiamaka Wilson also predicted Seyi Tinubu’s emergence as the next Lagos State governor even as his father shall win a second term in office.“While this might sound funny or unrealistic to many, for us who are children of light, we see, hear and feel beyond the abilities of the physical eye, nose and skin. So we see what the ordinary eye can never see no matter how long and how keen it watches.”
On his part, a wizard, Adeola Komolafe also predicted that President Tinubu’s son becoming governor of Lagos State in 2027 shall surely materialise.
“When I read about the prediction of Primate Ayodele of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, it only made me laugh because I have already seen it in the spirit realm that Chief Seyi Tinubu, and not any other aspirant, shall take over from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. In like manner, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu shall also win a second term in office come 2027, so for the first time in the history of Nigeria, we will have a father and son as president and governor at the same time. Let us just keep our fingers crossed as we shall see it come to pass.”
Komolafe then recalled how the withes in Ondo State had in 2016 predicted the emergence of the late Barrister Rotimi Akeredolu in the keenly contested gubernatorial elections, just as the prediction of witches and wizards stating clearly that Atiku should withdraw from the 2023 presidential race or face being defeated shamefully, was fulfilled.
These predictions have begun to rent the air long before the race begins. For instance, The Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, has come out to say that Seyi Tinubu is qualified and not too young to become the next Governor of Lagos State, just as the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders, CONYL, endorsed Seyi to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the next governor of the state in November 2024.
And in affirming their position, CONYL has avowed that the son of President Tinubu is eligible, competent, well-educated and experienced to become the next Governor of Lagos State come 2027. This was in reaction to the prediction made by the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Prelate Elijah Ayodele, wherein he said Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Gbenga Ashafa, and Seyi Tinubu should perish the thought of becoming the next governor of Lagos State.
