2 Confirmed Dead In Ogbomoso Road Accident

Two persons have been confirmed dead in an accident that occured along  Ogbomoso/Ilorin expressway yesterday.

According to the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, the crash involved a TVS tricycle and an articulated vehicle.

Spokesperson of the Oyo Sector Command, Mr Mayowa Odewo, said a male and female adult lost their lives in the accident.

Odewo, who spoke to newsmen in Ibadan, disclosed that six people, made up of four male adults, one female adult and a child, were involved in the accident.

He said a container fell off the DAF truck on the tricycle at Taakie roundabout, Ogbomoso, leading to the death of the two persons.

He noted that the male victim died at the scene of the accident, while the female victim was confirmed dead at Bowen University Teaching Hospital in Ogbomoso.

“The remaining victims of the accident are currently receiving treatment at Bowen University Teaching Hospital, while the crashed vehicles and other items recovered have been handed over to the police.

“Sadly, no victim was saved by seat belts or other defensive gadgets,” he said.

Odewa cautioned drivers and other road users against excessive speeding and indiscriminate parking.
