As part of new set of seven projects to be Flag-Off across the territory, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory,(FCT) Barr. Nyesom Wike on Tuesday flagged-off construction of the 9.8 kilometre road linking Kabusa – Takushara within the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
He said the construction of the road which had been hitherto neglected by previous administrations was meant to open up the area for necessary development in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu administration.
While flaging-off the construction of the road in Kabusa, Wike stated that President Bola Tinubu was determined to fulfilling promises of touching people’s lives in Abuja; revealing that it was the first time roads were being constructed in the Councils with streetlights.
He stressed that the construction of roads was bringing about job creation, tackling hunger, providing access to farms and transportation of farm produce, as well as facilitating easy movement of persons, especially pregnant women, in terms of health emergencies.
The Minister who appears not be happy with the present condition of a Government Secondary School in the area gave what he called emergency order to his Chief of Staff for immediate upgrading of the school.
Wike also frowned at the attitude of bringing out students to lining up on the road for welcome purposes, saying such practice now banned in the FCT.
He said children deserves the best and must be treated with dignity at all times.
