Border Communities Development Agency, BCDA, has been commended for installation of Solar panel street lights at Ngurum, Gulani local Government Area of Yobe State
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, a prominent indigene of the area, Barrister Shuaibu Maina Birma, said, that the project is a source of joy as his people can now enjoy the social amenity of electricity in the community
Birma, commended the federal government for the initiative and assured that the community will jealously protect the facility which he also noted, will improve on the security and vigilante surveillance.
According to him, this facility is the first of its kind in the area, that has been coping with lack of basic social amenities for years
In this vein, he charged the federal authorities to make their presence more felt in the village by providing other amenities like boreholes, health clinics and rural roads connecting the farmers to the major surrounding towns to boost trade and commerce.
Birma, equally urged the state government to open up the Communities in Gulani local government by constructing inter-communal roads between the various Communities in the State.
