Borno State governor, Professor Babagana Zulum, has been honoured with Forbes Magazine Best of Africa Leadership Excellence Award 2024.
The award is for leaders that exemplify integrity, innovation and impact.
The award was presented by the Chairman, Integrated Whale Media Investments, Mr Steve Forbes, owner of Forbes Magazine, at Forbes House in New York, United States of America on Friday.
AljazirahNigeria reports that Forbes is a global media company focused on business, investing, technology, entrepreneurship, leadership, and lifestyle.
It would be recalled that in 2021, Zulum was decorated with the Republic of Niger Second-Order of National Honour, “de Grand Officer Dans I`Ordre”, equivalent of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger, GCON, in Nigeria’s ranking of national honours.
Zulum, who was represented by his Chief Adviser and Coordinator for Sustainable Development and Humanitarian Response, Dr Mairo Mandara, said “I am deeply honoured to accept this award. We are proud of our achievements and we are confident that we can leverage these successes to achieve an even greater impact”.
The university lecturer turned politician is also a holder of Nigeria’s Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON.
