Floods: Dangote Foundation Donates N1.5bn To Borno Victims

President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote has donated N1.5 billion to victims of the Maiduguri flood disaster.

Dangote made the announcement during an assessment visit to some of the affected locations in Maiduguri on Friday.

Accompanied by Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state, Dangote said out of the amount, N1 billion was given to the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to work with the Borno State government.

According to him, “I want to inform you that, NEMA wrote us a letter, so we set down and approved N1 billion to NEMA to work with the Borno State Government.

“On top of that, the Dangote Foundation will put additional N500 million; so that’s N1.5 billion”.

Also,  the Governor  of Nasarawa State Dr A.A Sule announced the donation of unspecified number of trucks of relief materials to support the flood victims.

In his response, Governor Babagana Zulum thanked the foundation for the love towards the people of the state.
