Housewife, Halimat Nasiru, yesterday, approached an Upper Area Court in Kubwa, Abuja seeking the dissolution of her 24-year-old marriage on grounds that she no longer loves her husband, Musa.
Nasiru told the court that she married Musa, according to Islamic laws.
The mother of five said her husband no longer handles his responsibilities.
“I no longer love him and do not want to be his wife. I pray the court to grant my prayer for divorce”, she said.
Musa begged the court to give him some time to address the problems with his wife.
”I still love my wife. We have five children together and I do not want a divorce”, he said.
The Judge, Mohammed Wakili, adjourned the matter until September 23 for report of settlement. NAN
