Stakeholders in Ogun State, on Wednesday, stepped up public mobilisation  for President Bola Tinubu and the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun ahead of the 2027 general election as reward for their purposeful leadership of the two leaders.

According to them, the leaders have demonstrated  sincerity in promoting inclusiveness and fairness in delivering the benefits of good governance at the federal and state levels.

The stakeholders spoke during a familiarisation visit of the Governor Abiodun’s Liaison Officer ,GLO, to Ado Odo Ota, Otunba Idowu Odewale, to Oba Olatunde Olaore Bamgbose (Ajifogbonselu Olagbade Ilufemiloba1) Alaje of Ajerogun Oresha Ado Odo Kingdom.

In an address delivered at the occasion, the  liaison officer said Governor Abiodun deserves the full support of the people in appreciation for taking development to the grassroots, as well as involving the people in the policy formulation and execution.

“We must remain as partners in progress with the state governor, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun. He is absolutely committed to the agenda of a new Ogun through the bottom –up development strategy. This is underscored by the laudable projects, among which are the construction of Atan-Agbara Industrial road and the cargo airport”, he stated.

Describing Governor Abiodun as a man of his words, the Liaison Officer said the Ogun helmsman has asked all stakeholders in his government to further strengthen their support for him and President Tinubu in his 2027 reelection bid.

“The Governor has said since the creation of Ogun State, no governor has ever handed over power to his predecessors. He has promised to hand over power to his predecessor and remain in the APC.

“Governor Abiodun has also unequivocally declared his utter support and loyalty to President Bola Tinubu. He has also instructed every political appointee or leader to follow his footsteps to achieve success.

“Besides, Governor Abiodun is a loyal party leader, and he has assured that he would not deviate from party guidelines, because his goal in the 2027 elections is to deliver maximum votes to President Tinubu to guarantee his reelection”, Odewale said.

He charged traditional rulers in the state to collaborate with the governor in achieving the goal as well as the targets of his administration in taking the Ogun to greater heights.

“Let all stakeholders who crave for the best for Ogun State work together with governor, avoid action and utterances capable of heating up the polity, creating division and strife. I can assure you that no one will be left out for recognition and appreciation at the most auspicious times.

“Let us also use this auspicious gathering to appreciate the unalloyed support of the deputy governor, Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele for the governor and Ado Odo Ota, and Yewa Awori in general. Our mantra should be one good turn deserves another; we should continue to strengthen the bond of friendship and cooperation”.

The Monarch promised the unalloyed support of his subjects to the reelection of President Tinubu and the administration of Governor Abiodun in appreciation of its fairness and equity in the allocation of infrastructure.

He said the governor did not only upgrade the status of the traditional institution of the town from Baale to oba, but he also revamped strategic public utilities.

He cited the reconstructed dilapidated Atan-Agbara road as an example, saying it is uncharitable for any individual to claim the governor has not been fair and just in the distribution of infrastructure.

While acknowledging the cordial relationship between the governor and his deputy, the monarch appealed to the governor to give all the elected traditional rulers an opportunity to pay him a courtesy visit in appreciation of the historic decision.

“I thank our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun profoundly for his action. One good turn deserves another. We crave for an opportunity for all the kings his administration elevated to the status of oba to pay him a courtesy visit to appreciate him for bring joy and happiness to our people, as well as to restate our unflinching support for his government,” Oba Bamgbose said.
