Former Deputy Governor of Taraba State, Armayau Abubakar, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) face no serious opposition ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that the ruling party has firmly established its dominance across the country.
Abubakar made the remarks on Wednesday in Abuja shortly after his inauguration as the Director-General of the Renewed Hope People Advocacy (RHPA).
According to him, the APC’s widespread control of key political structures across Nigeria has positioned the party for another electoral victory in 2027.
“Everybody knows—even the blind can see—that the APC has taken over the country. We have almost all the governors with us, members of the National Assembly, and members of the various State Houses of Assembly. These are major stakeholders, and they clearly demonstrate that Nigerians have embraced the APC,” he said.
He expressed confidence that President Tinubu would secure a second term, stressing that the party’s growing political strength leaves little room for any meaningful challenge from the opposition.
Questioning the capacity of opposition parties to make an impact in the next general election, Abubakar said they have fallen far behind the ruling party.
“What impact can they make? Where are the parameters? Where would they even begin? We have gone hundreds of miles ahead of them,” he stated.
He urged opposition politicians to align themselves with the APC, describing it as the country’s “winning party.”
“My message to the opposition is that this is the right time to join the APC. President Tinubu has delivered visible achievements across every part of the country. His accomplishments are there for everyone to see. I believe there is nothing the opposition can genuinely hold against him. They should join the moving train—the canoe of Noah—so that together we can reach the promised land,” he added.
Also inaugurated at the event was Dayo Fasola, who emerged as the Women’s Leader of the Renewed Hope People Advocacy.
Fasola commended President Tinubu for what she described as his longstanding commitment to women’s empowerment, recalling that his support for women’s inclusion dates back to his tenure as Governor of Lagos State.
“I am grateful to be part of this great movement. President Bola Tinubu has always been an advocate of women’s empowerment. During his time as Governor of Lagos State, he created awareness about the need to give women greater opportunities and participation in governance. That vision has continued to inspire women across the country,” she said.
She pledged the support of women within the movement for the President’s re-election bid, expressing confidence that his administration would continue to advance inclusive governance.
“I have paid my dues, and I believe it is time for women to take their rightful place in the scheme of things. We have an array of experienced and accomplished individuals in this movement, and we are ready to support President Tinubu’s vision.
Wherever women are given opportunities, success follows, and together we will continue to work for the progress of our nation,” Fasola added.
