Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum hosted a Ramadan iftar at the Government House, Maiduguri, bringing together key stakeholders, including lawmakers, security chiefs and members of Borno Elders Forum.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to resettle all Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs, and return refugees to their communities.
He also disclosed plans to invest in climate-smart agriculture to boost food security and economic stability.
Speaking at the occasion, Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Bukar Tijani praised Zulum’s leadership, highlighting key achievements such as the return of displaced persons, remodeling of Muhammadu Buhari International Airport and the upcoming completion of Kashim Ibrahim University Teaching Hospital.
He noted that the 2025 budget prioritised governance, security and agricultural transformation.
On his part, the Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, Major-General Waidi Yusuf assured of continued military support for peace and resettlement efforts.
He emphasized the importance of community cooperation in sustaining security gains.
In their separate remarks, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan and Speaker of the House of Assembly, Abdulkarim Lawan pledged legislative support for Zulum’s policies.
They expressed commitment to work with the executive to drive economic growth, security and social development.
