The Chairman and Coordinator of the group, Chief Ugochukwu E. Egwudike JP also known as “Go Easy”, disclosed that the support programme was introduced in 2020 following the directive of the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum.

Chief Egwudike explained that the programme was designed to provide relief and support to Christian travellers during festive periods by offering free transportation and stipends, thereby enabling them to reunite with loved ones across the country.

He noted that the current exercise marks the sixth edition of the initiative.

According to him, the exercise will run for four days, during which 750 commuters will be transported free of charge to various destinations nationwide, in addition to 300 widows and other less privileged persons that will benefit from palliative support as part of the yuletide intervention.

He also commended the Zulum-led administration for its inclusive leadership style and unwavering commitment to promoting unity, peace, and social cohesion without discrimination on the basis of ethnicity or religion.

He further urged beneficiaries and the general public to continue praying for sustained peace, stability, and development in Borno State and Nigeria as a whole.
