UBTH CMD Lauds Nursing As Noble Profession

Chief Medical Director, CMD, of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, UBTH, Professor Idia Ize-Iyamu has described nursing as a noble profession and indispensable in the health sector.

The CMD specifically highlighted the importance of the nursing profession and encouraged all to commit themselves to their studies.

Professor Ize-Iyamu stated this at the weekend when she visited the Founder and President of St Matthew’s Royal Academy, Reverend Matthew Okpebholo, to acknowledge his significant contributions to healthcare.

During the visit, Ize-Iyamu, along with UBTH management staff, praised Okpebholo for his dedication to providing quality nursing education through St Matthew’s Royal Academy, located in Eidenu Irrua, Esan Central Local Government Area of Edo State. 

She explained the critical role that nurses play in patient care and the overall healthcare system. 

The CMD advised the nursing students to be excellent ambassadors of the institution and ensure that the name of the school is written in gold. 

The visit was aimed at strengthening the relationship between UBTH and the academy.
