President Donald Trump suggested Thursday that his administration may shift focus to Cuba once the ongoing military operations involving Iran are resolved.
Speaking at the White House during a visit by Inter Miami CF players and officials, Trump addressed a largely Miami-based audience, including many of Cuban heritage.
“What’s happening with Cuba is amazing. We think that we want to fix, finish this one first, but that will be just a question of time before you and a lot of unbelievable people are going to be going back to Cuba, hopefully not to stay,” Trump said.
His remarks came less than a week into escalating US-Israeli military actions against Iran.
Trump also updated on the conflict, saying American and Israeli forces were continuing their campaign.
“We are totally demolishing the enemy,” he said while discussing the war in Iran.
He praised Secretary of State Marco Rubio for his role in the administration’s foreign policy.
