Special counsel to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People to Biafra, IPOB, Aloy Ejimakor, and activist, Omoyele Sowore, have been released from Kuje Prison after perfecting their bail conditions.
Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel was also released yesterday alongside others arrested for participating in the #FreeeNnamdiKanuNow protest in Abuja.
Sowore, who led a protest demanding Kanu’s release from detention on October 20, was subsequently arrested by the Nigeria Police Force when he visited the Federal High Court in Abuja for Kanu’s trial.
They were arraigned before a Magistrate Court in Kuje Area Council, which eventually granted them bail on Friday.
In a video published by SaharaReporters yesterday, Sowore, Ejimakor, Prince Emmanuel and the others were seen leaving the prison premises with their belongings, while singing a solidarity song.
Ejimakor reportedly collapsed in prison and was rushed to the clinic for medical attention before their eventual release.
