The management and staff of Safety Travels Limited extend heartfelt congratulations to the Chairman, Hon. Chidi Nwogu, and the Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Uchenna Nwogu (née Anyaehie), on the conferment of the posthumous Distinguished Star of Imo State (DSI) on their late parents.

The prestigious honour was bestowed on Late Chief Emmanuel Osigwe Nwogu, founding Chairman of Safety Travels Ltd and father of Hon. Chidi Nwogu, as well as Late Chief John Richard Anyaehie, father of Hon. Uchenna Nwogu, and his sister Dr Ije Omekam by the Government and people of Imo State under the leadership of His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma (GCON).
The awards formed part of activities marking the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Imo State.
Late Chief Emma Osigwe Nwogu, alongside his wife Late Chief (Mrs.) Fanny Ada Nwogu, served as the first Managing Directors of Safety Travels Ltd.
Driven by their passion for travel and service excellence, they established the company over 40 years ago and positioned it as an IATA-approved travel agency.
Today, Safety Travels Ltd continues to stand out as a transparent and forward-looking organisation, having successfully gone digital under the leadership of Mrs. Uchenna Nwogu, guided by the company’s ethos of “honest and transparent transactions.”
Chief Emma Osigwe Nwogu was Nigeria’s first Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a distinguished corporate leader.
He served as a founding board member of the FCDA and was a founding member of Integrated Consultants, Merchant Bank of Africa, Diamond Breweries Ltd, Brollo Steel Rolling Mill, among several other notable corporate entities.
Similarly, Chief John Richard Anyaehie, fondly known as Anyaehie Toyota Crown, was the sole distributor of Toyota vehicles in Nigeria in the 1960s and early 1970s. He also co-founded Standard Airways, Metcom Aluminium, Richards Paint, and was a founding shareholder of ACB Bank, Diamond Bank, and Hallmark Bank.
As the Government and people of Imo State honour these illustrious sons for their remarkable achievements, Safety Travels Limited reaffirms its commitment to upholding their enduring legacy of integrity, service, and impact.
