Portable Threatens Yorubas If They Don’t Vote Tinubu

Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, has sparked outrage after threatening fellow Yorubas with spiritual judgment if they fail to vote for President Bola Tinubu in next year’s general elections.

In a viral video broadcast, the “Zazu” crooner placed curses on any Yoruba person who works against Tinubu’s reelection bid, invoking thunder and Ogun (the Yoruba god of iron and thunder) to strike defaulters.

He claimed he has been officially contracted by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to campaign for the president.

“We need peace, we want peace. If you don’t want war in Nigeria, you better vote for Tinubu.

“Thunder and Ogun will strike any Yoruba man who doesn’t. I have been signed, given APC clothes — don’t worry, I will soon start sharing rice and vegetable oil,” Portable said.

The outburst has triggered widespread backlash online, with many condemning the use of spiritual threats and traditional deities for political campaigning.
