The Abia State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the emergence of Dame Mrs. Ngozi Onyioha-Orji as Chairperson of its Membership Mobilisation, Registration and Revalidation (MMRR) Committee, in line with the party’s nationwide directive to strengthen its grassroots structures.
She will lead a team that includes Mazi Kanu O. Kanu (Acting Chairman, Abia ADC), Barr. Edede Okechukwu, Hon. Eziuche Ubani, Barr. C.U. Onyekwere, and six other members mandated to oversee the mobilisation, registration and revalidation of members across the 17 local government areas of the state. The committee is expected to coordinate the exercise in a manner that ensures credibility, transparency and inclusiveness.
The development follows the official nationwide flag-off of the MMRR exercise at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja on February 12, 2026, where the National Chairman of the ADC, David Mark, charged state committees to take the membership drive to the grassroots. He emphasised that the strength of the party would depend on a verifiable and expanded membership base, urging leaders to ensure openness, fairness and unity throughout the process.
There are strong indications that the Abia ADC MMRR Committee will formally kick off the membership registration and revalidation exercise in Umuahia on Saturday, 21st February 2025, as part of efforts to align the state chapter with the national mobilisation programme.
