The Champions of 2025 National Division One Volleyball League, VIP Spikers Volleyball Club of Abuja, have set ambitious targets ahead of their participation in the season curtain raiser, the Super Cup, describing their participation as a major opportunity for growth and development.
Speaking on the team’s preparations, Samuel Onikeku on Wednesday in Abuja while highlighting the remarkable journey that saw the Vipers earn promotion in just seven months, underlining the rapid progress and momentum within the squad.
According to him, the Vipers earned promotion in just seven months, and now they have the chance to test themselves against top teams.
“We have recruited new players to raise their standard, and the target this season is for them to finish among the top three in the Premier League.”
Onikeku also stressed the importance of intensified preparations ahead of the new campaign, saying more friendly matches will be put in place to sharpen competitiveness and fitness levels across the squad.
He noted that teams must ensure they reach peak fitness and tactical readiness before the Super Cup fully gets underway.
As the new season approaches, expectations are rising around the Vipers’ debut campaign in the Premier League, with fans and observers eager to see how the fast-rising side will fare against the established giants of the league.
