The National Sports Commission, NSC, has affirmed Engr Elekwachi Chukwudi Dimkpa as the President of the Nigeria Karate Federation.
The decision to reaffirm Dimkpa as the Federation President has brought to an end the seemingly leadership crisis rocking the Karate Federation since its election that was held last year.
Engr. Elekwachi Chukwudi Dimkpa, FNSE, FNIEEE is a distinguished engineer, accomplished business executive, sports administrator, and public servant with decades of experience in leadership, governance, and organizational development.
A committed stakeholder in the development of karate in Nigeria, Engr. Dimkpa has served as the South-South Chairman and Board Member of the Karate Federation of Nigeria (KFN), where he has played a significant role in policy formulation, athlete development, sponsorship, and the growth of the sport.
Over the years, he has consistently invested personal resources in the organization and sponsorship of national and regional karate championships, supported Team Nigeria’s participation at major international competitions, and championed initiatives aimed at raising the standard of karate administration in the country.
He brings to the office of President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria a wealth of experience in leadership, strategic planning, resource mobilization, and organizational transformation.
The Director General of the NSC Hon Bukola Olopade said the commission will continue to uphold fairness, equity and justice to ensure Nigerian sports is rightly governed by the various Sports Federations.
The DG however urged and pleaded with all stakeholders in the Karate family to embrace reconciliation, peace and harmony as he urged the Karate President to operate an open door policy and carry all stakeholders along.
