Lobi Stars FC Chairman Unveils New Head Coach, Lonnstrom Mika

…Urges players to embrace discipline

Chairman, Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, Philip Nongu, has charged players of the club to embrace high- level self-discipline for them to excel in their chosen career as football professionals.

Nongu who gave the charge during a press conference held at the Mc Carthy Stadium in Makurdi, to mark the official unveiling of the new head coach of Lobi Stars, Lonnstrom Mika, a Finnish tactician, who will be working with the other technical crew to improve the club’s present position on the log to make the team more competitive, emphasized the need for commitment and professionalism, warning that Lobi under his watch would not be business as usual.

” We will not tolerate indiscipline, our Technical Adviser will select the best players not minding the names, so those who are ready to play for Lobi should be prepared”. Nongu emphasized, warning that any player who is not ready to play will be shown the way out. 

The Lobi Stars FC Chairman reiterated commitment of the management under his watch towards repositioning the club by moving it out of the red zone, expressing optimism that the coming of the new Head Coach Mika on board, he would deploy his expertise and passion for the game to elevate the teams  performance.

He thanked Governor Hyacinth Alia for finding him and other members of the board worthy to serve in various capacities, promising fans of the club to do everything possible to reposition Lobi Stars on the league table.

Nongu also called on fans and stakeholders of the club to always contribute useful ideas that would move the club forward and be constructive in criticisms, assuring that the board is not deterred by the current position of the club but ready to complete the assignment given it by  the governor which is to fix the club. 

The Technical Adviser to Lobi Stars, Daniel Amokachi, in his remarks said he observed a lot of lapses on an arrival such that would have been handled best during the pre- session but expressed optimism that with the coming on board of Mika whose ability he has confidence in, the club will do better. 

On his part Government representative on the board, James Iorpuu, restated commitment of the Alia administration to promote sports and football in particular.

He said it has been the desire of the governor that Lobi Stars should be one of the top most clubs in the country and said governor Alia is comfortable with what the new management has done so far.

Iorpuu said the Governor congratulated the new coach for accepting to work for the state and promised to give management of the team the necessary cooperation to succeed.

In a brief response,the new head coach Lonnstrom Mika, expressed excitement to join the Nigeria Premier Football League,NPFL, adding that he was equally honored to be part of Lobi Stars rich history and promised to be committed to drive the team to success.
