Kaduna Partners UNICEF To Strengthen Efficiency In Education

As part of ongoing efforts to tackle the out-of-school syndrome, Kaduna State government has partnered United Nations Children’s Fund, UNICEF, to launch Reaching-Out-Of-School Children, ROOSC, project.

The state government and UNICEF on Friday, signed a contribution agreement in a brief ceremony at the Government House, officiated by the Deputy Governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe with UNICEF’s Country Representative, Christian Mutuande in attendance.

Dr Balarabe emphasized that the ROOSC Project aligns with the Kaduna State Education Sector Strategic Plan (2019-2029) and aims to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 4, which promotes inclusive and equitable quality education for all children. 

The initiative seeks to register over 200,000 out-of-school children and enhance the educational experience for more than 1.2 million primary school pupils through improved facilities and learning materials.

Key objectives of the project include ensuring equitable access to education, enhancing teaching quality, creating conducive learning environments and strengthening the efficiency of the education system. 

The state government expressed gratitude to its partners, including the Islamic Development Bank and Save the Children International, reaffirming its commitment to provide quality education for all children in Kaduna State.
