Kaduna: Judiciary Staff Embark On Indefinite Strike

FROM RAHILA ABDULLAHI, KADUNA

Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, Kaduna State branch has embarked on indefinite strike.

Our correspondent reports that the entrance gate of the Kaduna State High Court was under lock and key as at 11am yesterday.

The strike had paralysed all judicial activities, as lawyers, judges and other stakeholders were prevented from gaining access into the court premises.

Meanwhile, in a notice dated February 12 and signed by the Chairman and Assistant Secretary of JUSUN, Auwalu Sarki, and Nasir Haroun, respectively, the union said the decision followed prolonged engagements and assurances that were not fulfilled.

The notice added that government had failed to implement agreements reached after months of negotiations.

The union recalled that it had earlier issued a demand letter on September 1, 2025, an ultimatum on October 9, 2025 and a notice of indefinite strike on October 23, 2025, before suspending the action on October 31, 2025 to allow for dialogue.

Our correspondent, who was at the Kaduna High Court around 10:50am yesterday, gathered that JUSUN taskforce was already on a patrol to enforce compliance across the state.
