
The Embassy of Ireland in Nigeria has announced that applications for the 2026 Ireland Fellows Programme will open on June 29, offering Nigerians the opportunity to pursue a fully funded Master’s degree in Ireland.
The embassy disclosed this in a post shared on its X handle on Friday, stating that the programme is targeted at early and mid-career professionals from Nigeria and Ghana seeking to undertake a one-year Master’s degree at leading Irish universities.
“Applications for the Ireland Fellows Programme opens on 29 June 2026! Apply for the opportunity to study in Ireland on a fully funded master’s scholarship,” the embassy stated.
According to the embassy, interested applicants from Nigeria and Ghana can access full details about the programme, eligibility requirements and application process through the official Ireland Fellows Programme portal.
The embassy explained that eligible applicants must be nationals and residents of either Nigeria or Ghana, possess at least a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of Second Class Lower division, and have a minimum of three years of relevant professional work experience.
For Nigerian applicants, the fellowship also includes the prestigious Roger Casement Fellowship in Human Rights, designed for candidates interested in pursuing postgraduate studies in Law, Human Rights and Governance.
Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive scholarship package covering tuition fees, accommodation support, a monthly living allowance, return flight tickets, visa costs and health insurance throughout the duration of their studies.
The embassy disclosed that applications will officially open on June 29, 2026, and close on July 26, 2026.
Prospective applicants are expected to complete and submit their applications through the official Ireland Fellows Programme website.
The embassy encouraged qualified Nigerians to take advantage of the opportunity to further their education while building leadership capacity and professional expertise through study in Ireland.
