Futsal Fever as National Super League Begins in Kaduna

Thirty two (32) teams are trading tackles for a star prize  at the maiden National Futsal Super League Football Tournament which kicks off yesterday (Monday) in Kaduna.

Games according to fixtures for the 7-day tourney are underway at the prestigious Murtala Mohammed Square in the crocodile city. 

Today, Tuesday several mouthwatering games are lined up, first on the list is the encounter between Big Honours vs Deaf Youth by 9am. 

Bakura FC will try RCCG Region 30 FC for size by 10am while Samba Boys will trade tackles with Sabo Warriors by 11am.

Other matches slated for Tuesday include, Emirates vs NASFAT by 12pm, Soccer Diplomats vs El Suraj -1pm, Kwaga FC vs Bluewhales 2pm while Astor Stars will face off with Mahuta City by 3pm 

Some of the matches decided on opening day include, the second match  between Ado Yalo  who defeated by 5-2 Badarawa while  Kwara United lost 5-4 to Chelsea 

In another  encounter, Everlasting FC walloped  Young Boys by 14-2.

NITR 0 Cross City Academy 10 

Young Stars 1  Lalo Stars 13.

The competition designed by Galaxy 5s Global Sports led by its Chief Executive Officer, Shamsudeen Tijanni Yusuf,  is being officiated by reputable arbiters from the Kaduna State Football Association (KSFA), after a seminar was organized for them to updates their knowledge of the game. 

Speaking after the opening ceremony, Shamsudeen Tijanni Yusuf , stated that the National Futsal Super League is an initiative borne out of “love for the game” and its social impact.

“Football is a widely loved sport especially in Nigeria, it has the power in uniting millions and changing lives. Our aim is to make sure that Nigerians embrace Futsal wholeheartedly as they do with football”

“Futsal is gaining acceptance in several nations of the world, we cannot be left behind”.

Our correspondent was also informed that four female teams will feature in the tournament , they will play from the semi finals stage. According to him, “spectators and all the teams are guaranteed adequate security as men of Nigeria Police Force and others are already on ground to ensure the safety of lives and property . 

The grand finale is on Sunday , prizes and awards will be given to top athletes and best teams. 

Top sports administrators are also expected to grace the closing ceremony.
