Edo State Ministry of Education, in collaboration with SkillUp Naija, has launched a virtual training programme for over 6,000 teachers.

The training is aimed at equipping teachers with the skills to effectively implement the new Skills Integration Policy, with the goal of having at least six SkillUp Edo ambassadors in each school.

The comprehensive training programme covers key modules such as coding and programming, artificial intelligence, web development, video editing, social media management, vlogging and blogging.

Upon completion, the teachers will be certified and appointed as SkillUp Edo ambassadors in their respective schools.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr Emmanuel Iyamu, while declaring the programme open, emphasized the commitment of Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration to equip students with knowledge, character and skills.

“This initiative underscores government’s dedication to enhance the quality of education in Edo State and prepare students for the demands of the modern world. The training programme is a significant step towards achieving this goal,” he stated.
