The International President of De Norsemen Kclub International (DNKI), Chief Oliver Patrick has strongly condemned the recent killings in Jos, Plateau State, describing the incident as barbaric and a grave assault on humanity.
In statement signed by International Publicity Secretary of DNKI, Mr. Darlington Anugom on Tuesday in Abuja following the tragic attack, which reportedly claimed no fewer than 28 lives on Palm Sunday, Chief Patrick expressed deep concern over the persistent wave of violence across Nigeria.
He noted that such acts, especially on a sacred day observed by Christians worldwide, undermine the nation’s values of peace, tolerance, and coexistence.
He called on both the Federal Government and the Plateau State Government to take decisive action by ensuring that those responsible are swiftly identified, arrested, and prosecuted in line with the law.
According to him, justice must not only be served but must be visibly seen to be served to restore public confidence and deter future violence.
Chief Patrick further urged security agencies to intensify intelligence gathering, strengthen surveillance systems, and enhance rapid response mechanisms, particularly in vulnerable communities.
He stressed that proactive and coordinated security efforts are critical to preventing further loss of lives and protecting citizens.
“As a humanitarian organization committed to promoting peace, justice, and human dignity, we are deeply saddened by this tragic development,” he said, while extending condolences to the families of victims, affected communities, and residents of Plateau State.
The DNKI President also raised concerns over the constitutional implications of continued insecurity, emphasizing the government’s primary responsibility to safeguard lives and property. He warned that failure to effectively address the situation could erode public trust in governance and weaken the rule of law.
He called for a united national response, urging community leaders, religious institutions, and civil society organizations to collaborate with authorities in fostering peace, vigilance, and mutual understanding.
DNKI reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for justice, supporting victims of violence, and contributing to efforts aimed at building a safer and more secure society.
