Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori said the state is recording successes because of God.
The governor spoke on Thursday at the dedication of the ultra-modern Alpha and Omega City by members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, Delta State chapter.
According to the governor, who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, Delta is a praying state and he congratulated PFN for the achievement.
“Delta is a praying state; as a people, we honour and worship the only true God; we believe that God’s hand is upon Delta State,” the governor said.
He continued, “on behalf of the Delta State government, I congratulate the chairman and members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Delta State chapter on this remarkable achievement.
“This is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes, it is with immense gratitude that this edifice is being dedicated today.
“I commend the leadership of the state PFN for this great vision and for demonstrating the courage and resilience to see it to completion. May God’s favour and blessings rest mightily upon you for this great work.”
The governor thanked those who contributed in several ways to the building of the city, describing it as a “modern day version of Solomon’s Temple.”
The immediate past Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, thanked PFN for turning the place around and commended the church for the enthusiasm for Christ.
“The church is about the people, not the building; we need to pray as a church ceaselessly; to God be the glory for what I see here today.
“Collectively, we must pray for our nation, it is not a time to grumble, it is not time to complain, we must pray, have faith in God that whatever that happens, God has a reason for it.
“I am excited that the church is united and we pray that it will remain united. No matter the challenge we have as a nation, the prayer of the church will bring the needed change,” Okowa said.
