Controversial comedian DeeOne has voiced his opinion that a lack of strong social media presence is negatively impacting the relevance of certain Nigerian celebrities, notably veteran actress Genevieve Nnaji.
According to DeeOne, celebrities who maintain a reserved or mysterious persona tend to fade from online conversations and struggle to stay in the spotlight.
To support his stance, the reality TV star pointed out that TikTok sensation Peller currently holds more influence on the Nigerian internet scene than Genevieve Nnaji.
During a recent appearance on Pulse’s Hot Takes podcast, DeeOne stated, “Genevieve not talking much on social media is not helping her. Genevieve not posting on social media every time is reducing her brand. Let me rephrase it — anybody who is not posting constantly is not top of mind.”
He further questioned, “What makes her [Genevieve] different from other actresses? Number one from when? Since which year? Peller right now is more relevant on the internet space in Nigeria than Genevieve Nnaji.”
