Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Aliyu Wamakko has sympathised with the families of victims of Sunday’s boat mishap in Sokoto State.
The boat accident, which occurred in Dundaye Village in Wamakko Local Government Area, resulted in the death of some passengers.
Wamakko, in a condolence message to the families that lost loved ones in the mishap, signed by his media aide, Bashar Abubakar, expressed shock upon hearing the news, saying the incident was tragic.
While commiserating with the families of the deceased, Senator Wamakko called on the people to take extra caution while crossing the river in canoes, especially now that it is overflowing.
He prayed to Allah to forgive the sins of the deceased and for the speedy recovery of the survivors.
It would be recalled that a canoe carrying people to their farms on Sunday morning capsized, leading to the death of an unspecified number of people, even as many were rescued by swimmers in the area.
