The ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has reaffirmed its commitment to inclusivity and the welfare of Persons with Disabilities, PWDs, through the distribution of cash grants and food items to hundreds of beneficiaries at its National Secretariat in Abuja.

The beneficiaries, drawn from various disability clusters across the Federal Capital Territory and neighbouring communities, received the support during a humanitarian outreach programme coordinated by Tolu Bankole, the APC National Leader of Persons with Disabilities.

The symbolic presentation of the items was carried out on behalf of the APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, by his Principal Private Secretary, Comrade Jibrin Kamga Bancir.

Addressing beneficiaries and party members at the event, Bancir conveyed the goodwill of the National Chairman and reiterated the party’s resolve to ensure that persons with disabilities are not left behind in the implementation of APC-led programmes and initiatives.

“I am here on behalf of the National Chairman to welcome and appreciate you all, and to reassure you that the APC remains committed to your welfare and inclusion,” he said.

According to him, the intervention reflects the party’s determination to ensure that persons with disabilities enjoy the dividends of democracy and the benefits of belonging to the APC family. He added that the National Chairman remains passionate about policies and initiatives aimed at improving the well-being and social inclusion of PWDs across the country.

Bancir also commended Bankole for his tireless efforts in advancing the cause of disability inclusion within the party and for providing effective leadership to the disability community.

Speaking during the distribution exercise, Bankole expressed profound appreciation to Professor Yilwatda for his steadfast support and exemplary leadership, describing him as a dependable ally and advocate for persons with disabilities nationwide.

“We are stronger together. I deeply appreciate the support of the National Chairman and his unwavering love and commitment to the welfare of persons with disabilities across the country. He has demonstrated true leadership and comradeship. Today, at the APC National Secretariat, we are continuing the distribution of cash support and food items to PWDs as part of our collective effort to improve their welfare,” Bankole said.

Beneficiaries from various disability groups, including the visually impaired and hearing-impaired communities, expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as timely and impactful assistance in the face of prevailing economic challenges.

The APC maintained that the welfare, empowerment and inclusion of persons with disabilities remain key priorities of the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that the party would continue to implement programmes and policies aimed at enhancing their representation, expanding access to opportunities and improving their overall quality of life.
