The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, Chief Sunday Dare, CON, on Monday joined key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State as the party’s Unity Tour/Meeting held in the Ogbomoso Zone, culminating in the adoption of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, as the party’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election.
The meeting, convened under the banner of the Oyo State Renewed Hope Ambassadors, brought together party leaders, elected officials, grassroots mobilisers, youth and women leaders, and other stakeholders from across the Ogbomoso axis.
It was aimed at strengthening internal cohesion, reviewing the party’s performance, and consolidating support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.
Speaking at the gathering, Chief Dare conveyed the President’s appreciation to party members in Oyo State for their steadfast support and commitment to the APC. He underscored the importance of unity and discipline within the party, noting that cohesion at the grassroots remains critical to delivering the dividends of democracy and sustaining electoral success.
Chief Dare highlighted key policy initiatives and reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration, particularly in the areas of economic stabilization, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, sports development, and social investment programmes.
He urged party faithful to continue engaging citizens, explaining government policies clearly and countering misinformation with facts.
In a communique adopted unanimously, the stakeholders passed a vote of confidence in President Tinubu and formally endorsed him as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 election. The meeting cited his leadership, reform-driven agenda, and commitment to national development as the basis for the endorsement.
Leaders at the event also called for sustained grassroots mobilisation across wards and local governments, stressing the need to expand the party’s membership and strengthen its structures ahead of future elections. They pledged to work collectively to ensure the APC remains united and competitive in Oyo State and beyond.
The Unity Tour/Meeting concluded with a renewed resolve by party members to deepen collaboration, promote peace within the party, and support the Tinubu administration in delivering on its promises to Nigerians.
