Ahead of the 2027 general election ,the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has inaugurated a 20 man committee to strengthen it’s membership drive.
Inaugurating the Membership, Revalidation , Mobilization and Registration Committee , Wednesday at the Party’s National Secretariat, Abuja, National Chairman , Sen. David Mark charged the committee to strengthen the party’s grass root presence by revalidating it’s members , registering new members and harmonize it’s membership records.
Sen Mark noted that the exercise was to reposition the party for growth and internal cohesion.
He said “This event marks a significant milestone in the ongoing effort to reposition our party for growth, strength and internal cohesion”.
“The African Democratic Congress, ADC, was founded on the principles of justice, equity, accountability, and people-centered governance. For these ideals to translate into political success, our party must rest on a solid, credible, and verifiable membership base, supported by effective mobilization structures across the federation.
“It is in recognition of this urgent necessity that, following the resolution of our National Working Committee ,NWC, I approved the constitution of this Committee.
“No political party can aspire to national relevance without a strong, active, and properly documented membership. Membership is the lifeblood of any democratic organization. It determines legitimacy, strength, reach, and ultimately, electoral victory.
“As we look ahead to future political engagements, it has become imperative to revalidate our existing members, register new ones, strengthen our grassroots presence, and harmonize our membership records nationwide. This Committee has therefore been entrusted with a critical national assignment.
“The responsibility placed on you is both demanding and historic. You are expected to discharge your duties with integrity, fairness, transparency, and a deep sense of patriotism to our party.
“You must approach this assignment without bias, favoritism, or exclusion, bearing in mind that unity and credibility are the foundation upon which the future of the ADC will be built.
“Let me emphasize that this exercise is not about exclusion, but inclusion, strengthening, organizing, and repositioning our party to meet the expectations of Nigerians, who yearn for credible leadership and democratic governance.
“On behalf of the National Working Committee of the African Democratic Congress, I formally inaugurate the Membership, Revalidation, Mobilization, and Registration Committee and wish you success in the discharge of your duties”
Meanwhile ,speaking on behalf of the committee , chairman of the committee Kashim Imam said: “May I on behalf of all the members of my committee accept formally the responsibility that has been vested on us to serve the African Democratic Congress. I want to say with all sense of responsibility that we will discharge our responsibilities diligently.
“Mr. Chairman, this is the first of the committees that you are inaugurating. It means that the assignment that you have entrusted to us is very serious. I want to assure you, on behalf of all the members of the committee, that we will not sleep, we will not rest, we will work 24-7. You will see us mobilizing and registering members in the creeks, in the deserts, across the length and breadth of this country. This is a mass movement.
“I won’t give figures until we’ve commenced this exercise. We’ve been charged to report back in just 30 days. Work has started”.
