Health workers Association, Yobe State branch has suspended its proposed strike action.
The Deputy Governor, Idi Gubana, met with representatives of the association and an agreement was reached for the suspension of the strike.
During the emergency meeting, members of the Health Workers Association led by the Chairman, Dr Umar Ahmad Aliyu, presented their demands to the state government.
In his response, the deputy governor explained that the state government would look into their demands by the end of September.
He also appealed to them to suspend and resume their humanitarian work as doctors.
He reiterated the fact that their services are valuable and commendable, as they save lives of thousands of people in and around the state.
The deputy governor called on the members to continue to give their support and maximum cooperation to the government of Yobe State in the interest of citizens.
