Banditry: Speaker Expresses Sadness Over Traditional Ruler’s Death

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas has expressed sadness over the death of the District Head of Gatawa in Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa in kidnappers den.

This was contained in a media statement signed by his media aide, Musa Abdullahi Krishi. 

The statement informed that some bandits had kidnapped the late district head of Gatawa and his son on July 29.

According to the speaker, “the late Bawa was reported to have died in captivity.

He lamented that in the first place, the bandits’ kidnap of the traditional ruler was barbaric, describing their treatment of the late traditional ruler as inhuman.

He also decried the continuous kidnapping for ransom in the country, saying it is unacceptable.

He sent his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Sarkin Gobir, Gatawa District in Sabon Birni Local Government, the people and government of Sokoto State over the irreparable loss.
