The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), and the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, have been confirmed as keynote speakers for the 9th National Tourism Transportation Summit & Expo (NTTSummit) 2026.
The announcement was made in Abuja by the National President of the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) and Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Organising Committee for the summit, Chief Abiodun Odusanwo.
Scheduled to hold from Monday, July 27 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, the annual summit will bring together key policymakers, industry leaders and stakeholders from the aviation, maritime, rail, road transportation, tourism and hospitality sectors to explore strategies for strengthening collaboration and driving sustainable economic growth.
This year’s summit is themed “Tourism and Transportation: Building Connectivity and Mobility for Sustainable Development.”
According to Chief Odusanwo, the event will serve as a strategic platform for government and the private sector to develop practical solutions that strengthen the synergy between transportation and tourism.
“The summit provides a critical Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Government (B2G) interface where stakeholders can align policy with private sector execution to accelerate sustainable socio-economic development,” he said.
He added that discussions will focus on developing actionable roadmaps that enhance national connectivity, improve mobility and build a resilient economy through integrated transport and tourism policies.
The participation of Minister Festus Keyamo comes at a significant time following his recent appointment by the African Development Bank (AfDB) as the African Champion for the Integrated Aviation Transformation Programme for Africa (IATP). His keynote address is expected to highlight ongoing reforms in Nigeria’s aviation sector, including airport infrastructure development, airline support initiatives and stronger integration between air transport and tourism destinations.
Similarly, Minister Hannatu Musawa is expected to outline the Federal Government’s efforts to reposition Nigeria as a preferred tourism destination by leveraging transportation infrastructure to stimulate domestic and international tourism. Her presentation is also expected to spotlight the role of the creative economy and cultural assets in advancing the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda through economic diversification.
Describing the event as Nigeria’s foremost platform for tourism and transportation stakeholders, Chief Odusanwo said the summit has, over the years, evolved into the country’s leading forum for promoting intermodal collaboration and industry partnerships.
“The 9th edition offers a unique opportunity for policymakers, investors and private sector operators to chart sustainable pathways for the future of mobility, tourism and hospitality in Nigeria,” he stated.
Activities for the summit will commence with a City Walk on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Old Parade Ground, Area 10, Garki, Abuja, ahead of the main conference.
Participants will engage in high-level panel discussions, technical sessions, networking engagements and exhibitions designed to strengthen partnerships across the tourism and transportation value chains.
Since receiving approval as an annual national event, the National Tourism Transportation Summit & Expo, organised by the Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN) in collaboration with relevant Ministries, Departments and Agencies, has continued to foster stronger linkages between transportation and tourism.
The organisers noted that the annual gathering has become an important platform for promoting integrated policies, enhancing connectivity, creating employment opportunities and advancing inclusive and sustainable economic development through the tourism-transport ecosystem.
