The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi, AIG Vungmoh S.M. Kwaimoh, has called on officers and personnel of the Gombe State Police Command to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, integrity and respect for human rights while carrying out their responsibilities.
Kwaimoh made the appeal during a familiarisation and operational visit to the Gombe State Police Command, where he emphasised the need for ethical policing, strict compliance with the rule of law and the importance of fostering positive relationships between the Police and the public.
The senior police officer arrived at the Command Headquarters in Gombe and was received by the Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Ahmed Chuso, alongside members of the Command Management Team, Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, Tactical Commanders and other senior officers.
The visit forms part of the AIG’s ongoing operational tour of police commands under Zone 12, which covers Bauchi and Gombe states. According to the Nigeria Police Force, the exercise is designed to assess operational preparedness, strengthen supervisory oversight, evaluate policing strategies and improve service delivery across the zone.
Addressing officers and men of the Command, Kwaimoh reminded them of the need to remain committed to ethical policing by discharging their constitutional responsibilities without bias or intimidation while safeguarding the rights of citizens.
He stressed that professionalism and accountability remain essential to sustaining public trust and confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
The AIG also praised officers of the Gombe State Police Command for their efforts in maintaining peace and security across the state, urging them to remain vigilant and continue responding effectively to emerging security challenges.
He encouraged personnel to sustain their commitment to duty and remain focused on protecting lives and property through lawful and responsible policing.
In his response, the Commissioner of Police, Umar Ahmed Chuso, described the visit as both timely and encouraging, noting that it would further motivate officers and improve the Command’s operational performance.
Chuso reaffirmed the Command’s loyalty to the Inspector-General of Police and pledged its continued commitment to intelligence-led policing, effective crime prevention and stronger collaboration with relevant stakeholders to enhance security across the state.
He added that the Gombe State Police Command would continue to prioritise the protection of lives and property while ensuring that officers perform their duties professionally and in accordance with the law.
The Command also renewed its appeal to residents of the state to support security agencies by providing credible, timely and actionable information that would assist in preventing crime and improving public safety.
It assured members of the public that information received from citizens would continue to play a vital role in strengthening security operations and safeguarding communities throughout Gombe State.
