Kebbi State government has reaffirmed its commitment to urgently address the needs of the Federal University, Birnin Kebbi, FUBK.
The assurance came from Deputy Governor, Senator Umar Tafida, during a courtesy visit by FUBK’s Governing Council in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.
Senator Tafida assured that Governor Nasir Idris is promptly addressing the university’s requests, including the issuance of certificate of occupancy for its permanent site, provision of buses for students transportation and other essential needs.
He emphasised the state government’s unwavering dedication to advance education, which he described as the cornerstone of societal development.
The Pro-chancellor, Ali Jatau, in his address, urged the state government to expedite the certificate of occupancy and bus provision, while also continuing its robust support for the university.
He acknowledged the substantial backing that the university has received from the state government, noting that FUBK stands out among federal universities for its state-level support.
The meeting was attended by key government officials, including the Head of Service, Alhaji Sufiyanu Bena, as well as commissioners, special advisers and other state functionaries.
