8,000 Hunters Declare Support For President Tinubu’s Re-election, AMBO’s Guber Ambition In Osun

From Richard Akintade, Osogbo

About 8000 hunters under the aegis of the Nigeria Forest Security Service ,NFSS, have endorsed the 2027 re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the 2026 Osun State Gubernatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress ,APC, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji ,AMBO.

The hunters, during the political meeting with the APC leadership at the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign office, Osogbo, also appealed to President Tinubu to assent to their bill, which was passed by the 10th National Assembly, to further strengthen the Security Architecture of Nigeria Against Terrorism and Banditry.

Addressing the hunters un behalf of Oyebamiji, the Executive Director of Project Implementation at the Federal Housing Authority ,FHA, Remi Omowaiye, lamented over worsening security in Osun State.

Omowaiye said, “Since our party last government in 2022, security architecture is growing weak in Osun State. Killings and crises everyday, kidnapping are recorded almost every time, with residents left with no choice other than to ransom. Ifon/Ilobu/Erin crisis, Esa-Oke shooting, political attacks, kidnapping in Ora-Igbomina.

“Unfortunately, the Amotekun outfit is now a tool for political victimisation, see how they killed people in Akinlalu. We employed teachers, health workers, and others. This current government of Governor Ademola Adeleke sacked them all without any replacement”.

He stressed, “Security is apolitical. It is a collective responsibility. I am aware that you wrote several letters to the present government seeking assistance in security, but nothing was done in that regard. This present government has been indecisive regarding security issues.

“I want to assure you that when AMBO is elected, he will ensure you are incorporated into the security architecture with the state Police. We are working to ensure President Tinubu assent to your bill”.

The Coordinator of the Hunters in Osun State, Hammed Nureni, verbally moved the motion of endorsement for President Tinubu’s re-election and Oyebamiji, which was supported in voice agreement by the members of the group who later prayed traditionally for their victories in 2026 and 2027.

According to Nureni, “We are declaring our total support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election while we are also declaring our unwavering support for AMBO for 2026, we have a membership strength of 8,000 in Osun State, and we decided to back them.

“We implore President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to please sign our bill into law, as this will strengthen security and the Federal Government’s efforts in combating terrorism and insecurity”.
