PANDEF Mourns Ex- Delta Deputy Gov, Says He Displayed Highest Virtues

Board of Trustees and National Executive Council of Pan Niger Delta Forum, PANDEF, has mourned the late Delta State deputy governor, His Excellency Benjamin Elue, who died at the age of 85, saying he “displayed the highest and finest virtues of humankind”.

PANDEF stated this yesterday in a condolence message to Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sherrif Obovrewori.

The message signed by PANDEF National Chairman, Ambassador Godknows Igali, sighted by AljazirahNigeria indicated that the group received with shock and grief, news of the death of Elue. 

According to the group “Although he attained the age of 85 years, we nonetheless mourn his irreplaceable exit at this material time.

“During his earthly sojourn Chief Elue displayed the highest and finest virtues of humankind. In his private and public conduct, he has left behind a legacy of integrity, fear of God, hardwork and diligence.

“While he served Deputy Governor of Delta State during the tenure of Chief James Ibori, the great bedrock for political stability and dependable support for socio-economic development. The humility and maturity which he brought into governance became an exemple for all of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large”, the letter read.

Besides it added that “The entire South South geopolitical zone has indeed lost one of its most illustrious and resourceful citizens.

“However, we thank God for His will and goodness. Indeed, we are comforted by the assurance that “to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. (2 Corinthians 5:8). Herein lies our shared faith”.

The PANDEF then urged Governor Obovrewori to “Please convey our deepest condolences to the family of our departed leader, the people of Aniocha North Local Government Area and all of Delta State. May his soul rest in peace”.
