The Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Youth League has announced plans to organise a loyalty walk on February 11, 2026, in Ijebu-Ode, in solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The event, which is expected to draw over 5,000 youths from the state’s 20 local government areas, is aimed at promoting youth inclusion, civic engagement, and support for ongoing governance reforms.
According to the organisers, the walk will commence at the Dipo Dina Stadium, move through major routes in Ijebu-Ode, and culminate at the Awujale Palace Pavilion, where a rally and keynote addresses will be held.
Among the prominent speakers billed for the event is the Director-General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, who will deliver a keynote lecture titled “The Imperative of Continuity: Consolidating the Renewed Hope Agenda for Sustainable National Development until 2031.”
Also expected to address the gathering is the Ogun State Commissioner for Finance and Chief Economic Adviser, Hon. Dapo Okubadejo, who will speak on “From Policy to Prosperity: Youth-Centred Economic Pathways under the Dapo Abiodun Administration.”
The loyalty walk, according to the APC Youth League, aligns with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and Governor Abiodun’s development vision, with emphasis on youth empowerment, economic reforms, and infrastructure development.
The group recalled that similar loyalty walks organised in 2020 and 2022 recorded massive youth participation and peaceful mobilisation, noting that the initiative was later adopted at the national level during the 2025 Democracy Day celebrations in Abuja.
Governor Abiodun, the group added, has consistently demonstrated commitment to reshaping the image of Ogun youths by prioritising empowerment and development, particularly through information and communication technology.
It was noted that the Abiodun-led administration has trained over 21,000 youths in vocational and digital skills, strengthened community policing, and promoted self-reliance across the state.
Reaffirming its commitment to peaceful and responsible mobilisation, the APC Youth League called on youths across Ogun State to turn out en masse for the walk in support of reform, continuity, and responsible citizenship.
