Traditional ruler of Orokam and Owukpa intermediate area in Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State, Joseph Ikwuje has donated a refurbished Hilux pickup van to the Orokam Police Division.
Presenting keys of the refurbished vehicle to the State Commissioner of Police, Ifeanyi Emenari, at the Police headquarters in Makurdi, for onward presentation to the DPO of Ogbadibo Police Division, the monarch recalled that the CP released the vehicle to him when he had approached him with the challenge, acknowledging that though not road worthy at the time of its released, he decided to fix it to an enviable standard.
The Monarch stated that Ogbadibo Local Government Area, particularly Orokam and Owukpa, had witnessed a lot of security challenges, commending the CP for his swift response by posting a DPO to the area, as well as approving the release of the vehicle.
He added that the donation was in recognition of the efforts of the DPO’s diligence in addressing security challenges in the area.
Ikwuje appealed to youths in the area to shun crime and engage in productive activities for improved living conditions.
Responding CP Emenari expressed gratitude for the donation, acknowledging the monarch’s contribution towards efforts to restore peace in the state and country.
He lauded the synergy between sister agencies and support of the state government and the traditional institution which he said had contributed to the successes achieved so far.
The CP, who commended the DPO for his dedication to duty, promised to ensure that the desired peace by the people was restored.
