Osun State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Igbalawole Sotiyo has decorated the 267 officers recently promoted in the 2025 promotion exercise.
The decoration ceremony, held in Osogbo, was attended by service commanders, senior officers of the corps and family members of the newly promoted personnel.
In his address, Sotiyo described the event as a significant milestone in their careers and a testament to their dedication and commitment to service, noting that their elevation was well deserved and earned through professionalism, discipline and unwavering commitment to duty.
“Your promotion is a reflection of your hard work, loyalty and selfless service to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the nation at large,” he stated.
The commandant expressed appreciation to the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for his commitment to personnel welfare and career advancement, noting that his leadership had resulted in unprecedented progress and mass promotion across the corps.
He also commended the Commandant-General of NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Audi for his visionary leadership and relentless efforts toward improving staff welfare, capacity building and operational effectiveness nationwide.
Sotiyo reminded the newly promoted officers that higher ranks come with increased responsibilities, charging them to uphold the highest standard of integrity, professionalism and discipline, while leading by example in the discharge of their duties and ensuring the protection of lives and critical national assets in Osun State.
He encouraged officers who did not benefit from the 2025 promotion exercise not to lose hope, assuring them that diligence, loyalty and dedication to duty would be rewarded in due course.
On behalf of the newly promoted officers, Deputy Commandant of Corps, DCC, Ayodeji Olowe expressed gratitude to the federal government, Ministry of Interior, commandant-general and the Osun State commandant for the opportunity and confidence bestowed on them.
He thanked their families and loved ones for their sacrifices, support and encouragement.
