Day 2 of the 2025 CGC Volleyball Premier League final phase delivered a blend of dominance, resilience, and intense rallies as teams across both the men’s and women’s divisions continued their battle for supremacy at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
In MEN’S CATEGORY: CNS Spikers opened the day with a commanding 3-0 victory over Kada Kings, showcasing superior rhythm and precision. They sealed the sets 25-20, 25-19, and 25-13 in a one-sided encounter.
Nigeria Customs Service also maintained their strong title push with a straight-sets win (3-0) over Offa. Despite Offa’s spirited start, the Customs men edged the first set 27-25 before cruising through the next two sets 25-15, 25-15.
COAS Spikers impressed in a hard-fought 3-1 victory over NAF Rockets. They claimed the first two sets 25-22 and 25-20, stumbled in the third (21-25), but recovered solidly to take the fourth set 25-22.
Kano Pillars continued their fine form, sweeping Police Volleyball Club 3-0. Pillars dominated early with a 25-16 set win, survived a tense 29-27 second set, and wrapped up the match 25-21.
NSCDC were equally ruthless, overpowering Sunshine Spikers in straight sets (25-22, 25-20, 25-19) to secure a 3-0 victory.
In one of the most competitive games of the day, Nigeria Correctional Service came out on top with a 3-1 triumph over UCEM. They took the opening two sets 25-21, 25-21; UCEM rallied to win the third 25-21, but NCS held firm to close the fourth set 26-24.
Also WOMEN’S CATEGORY: CNS Spikers women continued their dominance from Day 1 with another emphatic 3-0 win, this time over Anambra Queens, posting set scores of 25-12, 25-12, and 25-16.
COAS Spikers also recorded a comfortable 3-0 victory against Olalomi Spikers, winning 25-13, 25-10, and 25-16 to stay in contention for the top spots.
NAF Ladies put up one of the most polished performances of the day, dispatching Wikki Queens 3-0 with commanding scores of 25-11, 25-16, and 25-11.
Nigeria Customs Service extended their unbeaten run with a ruthless 3-0 defeat of Kada Emeralds, dominating the sets 25-15, 25-6, and 25-16.
The highlight in the women’s division came from the dramatic five-set thriller between Benue Queens and Life Camp Volleyball Club.
Benue Queens started strong, taking the first two sets 27-25 and 25-19. But Life Camp staged an incredible comeback, claiming the third set 25-17, snatching the fourth 27-25, and sealing the decisive fifth set 17-15 to complete a stunning 3-2 turnaround.
As the final phase continues, the battles intensify with teams sharpening their push for podium finishes, league supremacy, and possible continental qualifications..
